Auto Refractors
Canon K-1 ophthalmic imaging system
The Canon K-1 ophthalmic imaging system is setting
high standards in simple operability, speed and accuracy.
It will always give reliable measurements for radius
of curvature, corneal refractive power, axis of cornea,
corneal refractive power and astigmatism almost instantly,
hence there is no longer a wait for this crucial information.
Peripheral measurements are also made possible simply
by turning on each of the four fixation lamps.
The operator aligns the center of the mire image
with that of the positioning ring and presses the
measurement button. Results are displayed on the TV
monitor and printed out immediately. The external
eye also can be monitored during this process. Both
the external eye and the mire image are enlarged on
the TV monitor. It is possible to detect tears or
other eye conditions.
The data is very reliable because of high tolerances
in the working distance adjustment. The contact lens
holder makes it possible to measure the curvature

Canon R-10 ophthalmic imaging system
The Canon R-10 auto refractor can take five readings
in just 1.25 seconds, and accuracy is within a 1/4
diopter. The unique photo target of this ophthalmic
imaging system enables you to gain the maximum attention
span from all your patients, and is particularly beneficial
with children and geriatric cases. Auto-fogging will
greatly reduce patient accommodation.
Canon’s microprocessor will measure in three
to five scannings, and produce a most “reliable”
value as your baseline for a refined reading on the
manual refractor.
The TV monitor displays the patient’s eye and
refractometer readings. Vertex distance and cylinder
sign can be selected by the operator. Joystick operation
is simple, and instruction is minimal. (ophthalmic

Topcon RM-A6000
The RM-A6000 ophthalmic imaging system employs Topcon’s
omni-directional joystick for alignment control. Operating
switches are clustered for one-touch left-handed control.
Simply press the “print” switch, and the
RM-A6000 will immediately print the results of a completed
right and left eye measurement. In addition , the
memory capacity allows the instrument to store up
to 10 complete measurements per eye, and prints these
together with an averaged “Representative”
measurement.
Topcon technology allows the RM-A6000 to be used in
a comfortably-lit room. The instrument employs an
invisibly near-infrared light which does not constrict
patient’s pupil. Even children will be relaxed,
thus easier to measure. All measurements can be made
